• An easy dental exam: Before we begin the exam, you are more than welcome to sit in the dental chair with your child to help them feel more comfortable and safe. When your child is ready, the dentist will gently examine your child’s teeth, gums, and jaws. During this process, the dentist will look for tooth decay, gum tissue problems, and an improper bite. If there are any issues, the dentist will treat them right away.
• A gentle dental cleaning: Not many children need dental cleanings during their first visit, but if it’s necessary, the dentist will provide a dental cleaning and fluoride treatment to deeply clean your child’s mouth and strengthen their smile.
• An educational conversation: Throughout the appointment, the dentist will talk to you about a variety of dental topics that will help you help your child achieve a strong and healthy oral cavity. Some of the topics will include a good oral hygiene routine, proper nutrition, oral habits, developmental milestones, future appointments, teething, and fluoride needs.
