Sedation Dentistry in Durham, NC
We offer sedation dentistry at our Durham, North Carolina, dental office to ensure that you have a pleasant, enjoyable dental experience. Some patients experience dental anxiety before and during their dental treatments. To help you feel more comfortable, we provide two types of sedation dentistry:
- Nitrous oxide (laughing gas): nitrous oxide is a gas that you breathe through a nose mask during your treatment. Nitrous oxide helps you feel calm and at ease during your dental treatment. The effects wear off almost immediately following the end of the treatment, and you are legally safe to drive afterwards.
- Oral sedation: oral sedation involves taking a medication by mouth approximately 30 minutes before your treatment. This will help you feel more relaxed during your dental visit. You may not remember portions of your dental treatment, but you will not sleep. Plan on having someone present to drive you home after your treatment.
We also use local and topical anesthetics to ensure that your dental treatment is painless. Our caring dentist and team are dedicated to helping you have a positive dental experience. For more information on sedation dentistry, we invite you to call or visit us at the practice of H.T. Macon Sapp, DDS. Our number is 919-489-9171.
